DUPLICATE FILES ON THE DESKTOP

Preperation

To get started make sure you have an account with admin permissions or this wont be possible.

To make the folder visible go to "C > Users" in file explorer and then click the view toolbar menu towards the top of explorer a menu like what's show below should open up.

Tick the box labelled "Hidden items" once done you should notice a new folder called Public show up. We are done with this area for now just minimize explorer.

Next go to your Desktop and make any plain text (.txt) document and put whatever word/sentence you want inside of it and save it.

Now close out of notepad or whatever program you were using to edit the plain text (.txt) document and right click the document then click copy.

Now head back to "C > Users" and go into the Public folder then Desktop you should now be in the "C > Users > Public" directory if not make sure you are in the right folder once in the correct location paste the file you copied earlier into this folder and then head back to your desktop.

You should see 2 files with the same name and file contents both of these documents are editable and will never lose data they function just like standard files.
